Happy Friday the 13th!

I'm back from my first root planing. Don't let the name intimidate you, it's simply a brutal scraping and sandblasting of your teeth below the gumline.

Actually, it wasn't at all bad. Thank heavens for novocaine!

In an extremely wise move, on my way home I picked up ingredients for some celebratory twinkie wiener sandwiches. I love these things! Here's the recipe, made famous by Weird Al in his movie "UHF..."

Twinkie Wiener Sandwich
Ingredients:
1 hot dog, prepared
1 twinkie, unwrapped
Sprayable cheese spread, such as Easy Cheese (optional)
Glass of milk (very optional)

Place the twinkie round-side-down on a plate. Cut along the bottom of the twinkie, only going halfway through. Insert the hot dog as you would in a hot dog bun. Top with a line of spray cheese. Dunk in the milk. Enjoy!

I've put a couple of fun seasonal mp3s up here and here. Enjoy!

My mom just got back from jury duty interviews. It was a burglary trial, and back in the 80s our house had been robbed seven times within a year and a half, so they disqualified my mom without her even having to pretend to be a lesbian nazi hooker with a fear of moustaches. Go mom!

Heh, just to clear up confusion, that stalker crack I made in the last entry is not Grey. She's my favorite stalker. I was referring to a not-so-pleasant stalker Matt has, who has started creepily looking my way.

Work still sucks, and I get to finally start my dentist appointments tomorrow. Just to make the guy work, I should eat an entire box of Oreos and wash them down with a bottle of Bosco. After all, my uninsured self has to pay him cash. Which reminds me, I'm going to be dirt poor for a month. And I have yet to start my holiday shopping. Joy.

Anyone know a good, cheap domain registrar?

Jen's got pics up from her post-2600 party last Friday! Check them out! They caught me dancing with Fina. And you all fear my striped shirt and blue and/or green toe socks. Jen, for the curious, is the lovely young lady on the left in image 23. And I look worse than I've looked in a while. I should check on that portrait of me in my closet. It's supposed to be doing all the aging for me, dammit.

On an unrelated note, there are few things worse than being the second choice on someone's stalker list, and having her first prospect not pan out. But all I have to do is politely insult her for a while, and she goes away.

Other bother - I invited Grey over to watch my new "The Craft" dvd Wednesday night, and the damn disc is faulty. So, she just crashed for a while. I'm still curious about the deleted scenes. But I did also get the "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within" dvd, and I got a real kick out of their "outtakes." And watching the CGI Final Fantasy cast perform the Michael Jackson "Thriller" dance must be seen to be believed.

Did I mention I'm the only Squaresoft fan I know who really liked that movie?

While waiting for a train home today, I called a Japanese operator and posed as Bill Gates begging the Japanese to buy more Xboxes. This is what happens when Rob is tired. Good night, now.

It turns out my dentist appointment is for next Friday. Yep, I begin the first of four weekly visits on Friday the 13th. Could I ask for a better omen?

2600 was fun, although Citigroup has a huge model railroad display taking up the entire center of the food court, meaning we had to squeeze the meeting along the edges of the place. Next month'll be the same way. But, I did unload a stack of DVD cases I trashed from a video store, a SCSI hard drive I trashed back at H2K2 and can't try out due to not having any SCSI equipment, and a couple of spare books I had lying around.

Jen's party was lots fun as always. Nibbler snapped a photo of Fina and I dancing, and, I think someone candidly took a picture one of my favorite socks I happened to be wearing. (It's a bright blue one with green and yellow moons and stars. And, it's got toes. I was wearing the left one.)

Bringing Sergey home with us, Fina and I ended up getting stuck in the City until 5:10 AM this morning due to a subway malfunction on the J line which stranded a trainful of people in Cypress Hills, which caused us to miss the last LIRR home for quite a while. We ended up stumbling in around 6:45 this morning, and I had to get up for work today. But it's all for the best, as a decent semi-conscious daze helps my job pass by more quickly.

On an impulse, I've put together a newbie's guide to the New York City 2600 meetings. Now I have somewhere to point everyone who emails me asking about them! Neat, huh?

Now I get to sleep for a few hours, go to the dentist, sleep some more, and go to the 2600 meeting with Fina. It's good to have plans.

Hey! I've got a page of my silly web quiz results. See how other peoples' simple code categorize me.

In other news, we've got lots of snow, my very favorite weather condition! The mall closed up early, and I got to walk home in it. That was loads of fun, and I did my good deed for the day helping a friend get a stranger's car unstuck. I also flopped down in the mall's parking lot and did some snow angels. And I finally found out how warm my customized Doctor Who-inspired 15-foot-long scarf can keep me.

Not that I really needed it. I've always been most comfortable in colder weather. It's odd for a former asthma patient like myself, but I just really function better in the cold, and I really love the snow. I just walked home in a snowstorm with my jacket open, for heaven's sake.

I also always have a great day when it's snowing. Maybe I'm part polar bear. Except I really don't care much for cola.

I'm finally getting around to a dentist's appointment tomorrow morning. That bites, since it means I have to wake up before noon, and the 2600 meeting is tomorrow evening.

In other other news, the lovely Grey is leaving for a short hop to Florida for the weekend. Everyone wish her a safe journey, and be sure to warn anyone in Florida you might know of her imminent arrival. And if anyone is planning on h4x0r1ng Jet Blue airlines, please hold off until Monday evening or else she'll have to travel under her own power, and her broomstick is in the shop for a bristle change.

Yesterday my mom had a major brain-fart. Her and Fina were watching Stephen King's "It" miniseries. My mom, commenting on how the adult version of the character played by a young Seth Green as a child looked nothing like him, asked "Why didn't they just use Adult Seth Green?" It took a minute of Fina and I laughing our asses off at her before she realized what she had just said.

I love my dear mother with all my heart. That's why I've got the men in white coats on speed-dial now!

Mood - Still laughing about that one!

There is something about me I feel the world needs to know, no matter what the cost...

See, I appeared for a fleeting moment in "New York City Hackers," a Norwegian documentary of the NYC hacker scene, in which 2600's Emmanuel Goldstein was featured. Later, Emmanuel released the documentary "Freedom Downtime," in which Kevin Bacon appeared for a split second leaving the offices of Miramax during a protest.

What this means, is that I have one degree of separation from Kevin Bacon!!! No matter what happens, no matter what else I achieve, this fact will remain with me for the rest of my natural life.

A bunch of people I know were actually in "Freedom Downtime," and therefore don't have any degrees of separation. Should I be jealous?

Yesterday Leo and Sergey celebrated their 20th birthday! Dammit, you guys, I tried to call you yesterday and wish you wishes, but you were out seeing the new Bond movie before me. Happy birthday, you so-and-sos!

My pal Murd0c has a web log now. I'm a bad influence!

I'm going back to work tomorrow. One of my ears is still shot and I don't quite have all my balance back, but I'm poor, so excelsior!

I keep getting mail from visitors to my Sealab 2021 page asking when I'm going to update for the new season. Truth is, I'm still trying to get hold of the episodes myself! I haven't been able to watch or tape them yet.

Ain't that a fine how-do-you-do? The only fool with a Sealab 2021 fansite, and everyone else is like four episodes ahead of me.

In other news, I finally organized a pantload of stuff that's been piling up in my "misc downloads" folder over the past couple of years. It took me a few hours, but at least I now know where my hoax "sneak preview" bootleg Star Wars II script is.

I had an odd dream last night about exploding cop cars, and I haven't even played GTA at all recently.
