I've never understood the "card phobia" some people have. I also don't understand feeling guilty for throwing away greeting cards after their usefulness (however long that is remains to be determined by the recipient) has passed. I also don't mind eCards...after all, as the clique goes, it's the thought that counts.

I've never felt I "owed" a card to anyone who's ever sent me one, either, though I know some people hate to GET them, only because they feel they have to now SEND one.

I hate that kind of crap thinking.

Which is basically why I made MY "if you WANT to send me a card, here's my address" post. I'd honestly not seen anyone posting their own address on my flist, until I did. Neener...I started a trend! :p I do feel silly replying to those "if you want a card from me, give me your address here." I mean, it's like asking to be invited to a party. My thoughts are...if someone WANTS to send me a card or such, they'll find a way, or ask for my address.

I haven't felt like sending cards since 2004. In the last few years I've received many...but didn't feel obligated to return the favor, simply because they sent me one. That would sort of...defeat the spirit of the season.
