One funny thing about that site is, since part of the disrespectful gesture is showing your enemy the sole of your shoe, most of these people are showing solidarity with the Iraqi journalist by giving the same insult to all that website's viewers.
I'm on record as saying shoe-throwing is an awesome gesture in general. My best friends growing up were a trio of mischievous brothers with whom I had most of my irresponsible childhood adventures. They were from a Muslim family of Turkish immigrants, and they taught me the meaning of shoe-throwing and sole-showing very early on. I'm pretty happy the gesture has now hit the big time.
i had no idea what an insult sole-showing and shoe-throwing were until al-Zaidi threw his shoes at Bush. i'm with you...it's an awesome gesture.
p.s.: it took a while for it to kick in that the subject line was trying to convey useful information. i'm slow but i'm dumb today.
and...that foot on page 31 from Lindenhurst, NY is one awesome foot. :D
I am still pissed that it took "the enemy" to do something a real American would have done. Proof that we are fucked.
Anyhow, this site is awesome. When I regain consciousness, I shall upload. I look like a terrorist so this should be easy...
Belated note: Looking back it seems they've shuffled the photos around, so I'm no longer on p. 31.
