10 Things That I Have Done That You Probably Haven’t…

In no particular order…

• Been a panelist at a hacker convention
• Taken home a box of earth from what might be the country’s oldest graveyard
• Brought a homemade copy of Tom Servo out to a movie
• Made something surprisingly techno-sounding out of nothing but radio clips from the 1940s (in progress)
• Given free Tarot readings to strangers, and been complimented on them afterward
• Broken into a classroom to steal my own photos, preventing them from turning up in the yearbook
• Appeared in a Norwegian documentary for a fleeting second
• Been heard on the Upright Citizens Brigade DVD’s commentary track
• Sat down on the pavement at Broadway and 47th in Times Square for an hour
• Wrote a mostly working word processor for the TRS-80, in BASIC, starting with not much more than an A$=INKEY$ loop… and having the cassette it was saved on stolen by a sister who taped New Kids On The Block over it.

Jennifer aka Lady Ironfox passed away peacefully at 6:30 AM on Sunday, February 13th.

She had been courageously facing a brain tumor since the end of last year.

Jen was an inspiration to all who met her, she was part of my spiritual family, and she was a wonderful friend. It was an honor and a privilege to know her, and I will miss her terribly.

Blessed be on your path, Lady Ironfox. Until we meet again!

Toronto Crime Stoppers took child pornography from a newsgroup, photoshopped out any victims and/or perpetrators, and posted the sanitized photos online in hopes that someone will recognize the locations and will tip off investigators.

Without that backstory you’ll just see photos of empty hotel rooms and such. Knowing what you aren’t seeing makes it extremely troubling to look at.

Yeah, they’re probably pulling a .ru (first year is really cheap, then they jack up the prices once everyone’s comfy in their new URLs.) Nevertheless, I took the opportunity to indulge in a really bad URL joke.
