To quote The Onion, I’d really like to tell this damn government what I think, but thanks to the Patriot Act, they already know.

Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) had implored his colleagues to approve the four-year renewal. If terrorists attack the United States next year, he said in a floor speech, “we will have to answer to that if we don’t vote to renew the Patriot Act.”
The President is throwing out similar tat..
“The terrorists want to attack America again and kill the innocent and inflict even greater damage than they did on September 11th — and the Congress has a responsibility not to take away this vital tool that law enforcement and intelligence officials have used to protect the American people.”
One thing frightens me deeply about this.. I wonder if the Act does get denied, or even delayed, what lengths people like those two will go to in order to prove themselves right. It would seem a perfect opportunity to blow something else up for a big “I told you so.”
