The Apple IIGS is still my favorite of the classic-era Apple computers. The graphics and sound capabilities were quite impressive back then. I vastly preferred the IIGS' design, with keyboard and other peripherals attached by wires and freely reorganizable around one's workspace, to the one-piece Apple II series computers and all-inclusive Macintosh bricks of the time.
An Apple IIGS was the main computer my class used in middle school. My time using that machine is one of the relatively few elements of that time in my life I don't mind revisiting occasionally.
